AMD unveils 3GHz Phenom desktop quadcore

http://www.uberpulse.com/us/2007/07/amd_unveils_3ghz_phenom_desktop_quadcore.php Since early this morning I'm attending AMD's Analyst day at the company's headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA. So far I was surprised by Rick Bergman's (the graphics guy in the picture!) demo of a PC with a 3GHz Phenom desktop quadcore and three graphics cards. Although the demo showed that the 3GHz quad-core actually exists, it does little to quelch worries of delays of the 3GHz quad-core server chip dubbed "Barcelona". "The product is stable at 3GHz [...] If the desktop version ships in Q4, you can be sure the server version will ship sometimes later", confirmed Henri Richard, AMD's chief marketing and sales. http://www.uberpulse.com/us/2007/07/amd_unveils_3ghz_phenom_desktop_quadcore.php
